The engineer people call when the board meeting starts in ten minutes.

Twelve years of onsite IT across Morocco, France and Switzerland. Most recently the hands on the ground at Nestlé’s Swiss headquarters: 5,000 users, more than 300 meeting rooms, the executive floor. I get people working again first, then I find the cause and write it down so it does not come back.

What I look after on a site

A normal day at the last post

  • ~20walk-ups at the IT corner

  • 5complex tickets

  • 1onboarding

  • 1device refresh

  • >95%user satisfaction

And a Teams Room that has to work before 9:00.

Devices, from box to retirement

Windows 11 builds, Autopilot and pre-provisioning, refresh campaigns of about twenty laptops a month, docks, screens and peripherals, warranty parts, stock and asset records.

  • Windows 11
  • Intune
  • Autopilot
  • SCCM
  • BitLocker
  • HP, Lenovo, Dell

Identity and access

Accounts, groups and permissions for joiners, movers and leavers, hybrid join and the Primary Refresh Token, MFA and Temporary Access Pass, Conditional Access and compliance.

  • Active Directory
  • Entra ID
  • Entra Connect
  • GPO
  • Kerberos

Meeting rooms and the executive floor

More than 300 Teams Rooms on Android and Windows, a ten-minute response time for leadership meetings, test calls before the board sits down, and discreet support for more than 300 senior leaders and their assistants.

  • Teams Rooms
  • Poly, Logitech
  • Microsoft 365
  • Exchange Online

Service, the boring part done well

Incidents and requests in ServiceNow under SLAs, clean escalations to remote teams and vendors, short procedures and user guides, and small automations that take repetitive work off the queue.

  • ServiceNow
  • ITIL
  • PowerShell
  • Power Automate

Field notes

Three tickets that other people had already closed once. How they were actually solved.

INC-01

An echo nobody could fix

Symptom
In an executive’s office, people on the other end of every Teams call heard a strong echo. Cables and headset had already been replaced.
What I checked
The audio devices list rather than the hardware. The Poly Studio exposes two microphones to Windows: a raw one and an echo cancelling one. Teams had picked the raw one.
Outcome
One selection, one test call, gone. I documented it for every room with the same kit and the ticket never came back.
INC-02

The wrong identity that kept coming back

Symptom
Adobe applications always opened under an old account, while Office, Teams and the browser signed in fine. Sign-outs, cache cleaning, reinstalls and a long session with Adobe support had changed nothing.
What I checked
What the sign-in page actually sent. With a browser extension we read the requests going to the server: they still carried the old identity, so the problem was upstream of Adobe, in the account Windows handed over.
Outcome
That account removed, a clean session, the right identity. Reading the traffic took less time than all the cleaning before it.
INC-03

Visitors who could not print

Symptom
Colleagues visiting from other Nestlé markets could reach the network but never the follow-me printers.
What I checked
Their laptops came from other entities and lacked the local print client the release stations rely on.
Outcome
A short procedure to install the component from the company store on arrival. Visitors print within five minutes instead of opening a ticket.

The lab where I break things on purpose

Veridian is a small hybrid enterprise I run on my own Proxmox server: a domain controller, a ConfigMgr site with SQL, two Windows 11 clients joined to the domain and to Entra ID, enrolled in Intune and co-managed.

It is where I rehearse what happens on a real site before it happens: a broken trust relationship, a stale Kerberos token, a missing PRT, a BitLocker recovery, a blue screen read in WinDbg.

The builder side

I write code, so I automate the work I would otherwise do twice.

A .NET diploma and years of side projects in C# and TypeScript mean I script the repetitive parts of support, read stack traces without fear, and talk to developers in their language when a ticket is really a bug.

On the side I run Practech, a small studio that delivers websites to Swiss SMEs through a pipeline of AI agents built in TypeScript and Next.js. It keeps my hands on modern tooling and on what AI can and cannot do at work.
